Sean Price Rap Clinic Part 2 ft. R.A. The Rugged Man

R.A. The Rugged Man was indirectly, directly responsible for why Sean Price was forced to start a rap clinic. R.A. leaped from a stage at a show Sean was attending; landing on him and damaging his vocal chords. Forced to stop rapping, Sean turned to a new source of income, as the owner and teacher of a rap clinic.

With Sean’s tragic death last year, students of the clinic were sad to lose their mentor. Several of the students had pre-paid credits for the class. To prevent refunds, R.A. The Rugged Man felt it was only right to step up and honor the legacy of Sean Price by assuming the new role of teacher for the clinic.

Although he claimed to take a more professional and patient approach to the teachings…things didn’t unfold that way during his lessons. The only bright spot of the day seemed to come from his star pupil, A.F.R.O. Watch the drama unfold in Rap Clinic Part 2!

Until recently, San Francisco, California – a small city of around 825,000 – wasn’t though of as a center for business. Rather, it was famed as an artistic, bohemian place with a history of flowing counter-cultures that spilled over America and the world, from the hippies in the hilly region of Haight-Ashbury to the gay rights movement in the Castro neighborhood. Times have changed. San Francisco has become the hype- and capital-fueled epicenter of America’s technology industry, which has traditionally centered on the string of suburban cities known as Silicon Valley 40 miles to the south. Many longtime San Francisco residents worry not only about being forced out of the city they love, but also that their city is being changed for the worse. Others are convinced that the injection of so many young people with technical skills, money to play with and no family ties will spawn a much needed creative renaissance.

Shon Roka (pronounced Shaun Roca) the DJ also known as Shaun Ortega was born on the west-side of Chicago. He started gaining fame as a bboy in 1991 and later became a member of a well known crew called the BRICKHEADZ. He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few. The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ. DJing for w/ Nike, Jordan, Under Armour, Adidas, Vans, Uprise (Chicago) Skateshop for numerous in-stores, sporting events, galleries and corporate outings. Also Shon Roka is a resident DJ post Covid in Chicago at McGee's, Tantrum, Imbibe and Harbee's.
