5 Pointz in 5 Minutes | Video
"5 Pointz in 5 Minutes" debuted at the Long Beach International 4th annual 'Shorts on the Beach' August 7th event. It played on a giant outside screen on the beach of the Atlantic ocean in Long Beach NY. Thousands were in awe of the short which showed a piece of NYC that will never exist again. The crowd reaction was overwhelming.
5 Pointz was a world famous grafitti MECCA where WORLD CLASS aerosol artists shared their best work on the walls of this 200,000 square foot industrial building in Long Island City, NYC.
The site was active for 20 years until the owner of the property decided to DEVELOP the property.
The filmmaker, Kevin Wood was hired to video tape the entire building inside and out for unknown reasons at the time. The entire building and all artwork was whitewashed 48 hours after the film documentation, subsequently the building has been demolished to make way for a condo development.
This short film stands as a documented collection of the building and the world class grafitti art.

The concept of the video is to promote the idea of "Natural Beauty".
Often times in Hip-Hop and R&B music superficiality is exaggeratedly glorified.
The standards of Hollywood beauty is based on nearly unattainable characteristics.
So instead of continuing that pattern,
in this video I want show women of all shapes, sizes, colors and backgrounds,
presenting themselves in their natural state.
The purpose is to encourage natural beauty, amongst ALL women,
and to allow them the chance to feel beautiful with or without any beauty enhancer.
I feel that THIS video, THIS message and similar messages
can create a MOVEMENT by affirming our OWN standards of beauty
instead abiding by someone else's.

Shon Roka (pronounced Shaun Roca) the DJ also known as Shaun Ortega was born on the west-side of Chicago. He started gaining fame as a bboy in 1991 and later became a member of a well known crew called the BRICKHEADZ. He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few.
