InFocus: deM atlaS

InFocus is a new series that profiles the pioneers that are pushing culture forward with their finesse and progressive sensibilities. In this episode, meet St. Paul, Minnesota-based rapper, deM atlaS. deM talks about being in a rock band throughout high school, but having to go solo after his bandmates left for college.

Eventually, he got into spoken word, which led him to create music by utilizing different melodies and influences. When it comes to creating music, he talks about the importance of producing original sounds.
