Joey Bada$$ | Like Me | Video
Joey Bada$$ gets controversial in his latest video, “Like Me.” Featuring BJ The Chicago Kid, the rapper takes on police shootings of unarmed Black men in the clip, playing an innocent kid who succumbs to a fatal gunshot wound.
Directed by Nathan R. Smith, the video trails Joey as he rescues a young lady from the clutches of a difunctional relationship. He befriends her only for her jealous lover to seek revenge against the both of them. The girl’s unhinged lover strikes back after the two evoke a buzzing romance by pulling a gold revolver and shooting his ex at gunpoint. Joey is able to escape but later falls victim to authorities, as they shoot him following the day’s events without seeking answers.
“Like Me” appears on Joey’s debut album B4.Da.$$. B4.Da.$$ debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 58,000 total units. The album also debuted at No. 1 on both the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and the Rap Albums chart. Press play below.
