This chicago brand makes eyewear out of skateboards!
You're not the only one who has ever wondered what to do with your old skateboard. Chicago-based brand Drift Eyewear had the same thought, so, they decided to make some seriously rad glasses out of their old decks. That's right, the entire Drift Eyewear collection is made from reclaimed wood.
Much like your other favorite fashion pieces made from recycled material (that skirt you crafted from a vintage bed sheet, those jeans you turned into a pair of shorts), each pair of Drifts are made by hand. And if all this wasn't enough to convince you to go out and try a pair on IRL (see below for a list of retailers in each of our newsletter cities), then we're thinking our gallery of their ultimate frames, or the fact that each are named after famous literary characters, might just do the trick.
