Vince Staples | Nate ft. James Fauntleroy
Vince Staples is one of the most exciting rappers in Southern California right now. With a relatively selective discography, the Long Beach spitter has connected with fans and garnered major label attention. The sobering side of the turn up/trap rat race, Vince's content is more contemplative than sensational.
For a while now Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 has been murmured about, a follow-up tape to Vince's breakout Vol. 1 that got heads initially checking for the LBC MC. "Nate" is the first offering. Named after Vince's father, the track is an autobiographical narrative over trunk-rattling Scoop DeVille beat. The production value is noticeably higher than Vince's previous efforts, check the James Fauntleroy break towards the end. Perhaps this is hinting at what Def Jam resources yield.
